This year’s 15th annual Art Of Speed (AOS) is panning out to be its biggest edition yet as more custom machines, activities, and an even bigger music festival are being featured.

Aside from the beautifully crafted custom motorcycles and cars, some of the people behind the culture will also be making their way to Malaysia to attend the highly anticipated motor show.

Taking place at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) this 1 and 2 August, AOS will be hosting international guests from the United States of America, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei, the Philippines, and Singapore.

So who are these people coming over to our neck of the woods? They are artists, mechanics, experts and community builders in the world of custom machines.

Emi Suganuma – MOONEYES Japan

MOONEYES Japan is a Yokohama-based company that has become one of the world’s most influential names in hot rod, custom car, and vintage American automotive culture.

Emi Suganuma works in the company as a “MOONEYES Imagineer”, contributing to vehicle builds and styling, event appearances, brand promotion, international custom culture festivals, as well as photography, design, and lifestyle content associated with MOONEYES.

Recently, the 2026 edition of the MQQNEYES International Magazine feature’s her personally-own 1972 Chevrolet Vega Wagon, nicknamed “Sprightly Fairy”, alongside other notable MOONEYES project vehicles.

Fun fact: Her father is Shige Suganuma, the president of MOONEYES Japan who is widely credited with growing the company into a global brand. He was inducted into the Grand National Roadster Show Hall of Fame for his contributions to hot rod and custom culture.

Wataru Kato – Liberty Walk

Wataru Kato is the founder and president of Liberty Walk (LBWK), one of Japan’s most famous automotive tuning companies and arguably the world’s best-known creator of wide-body kits for supercars.

Since founding the company in 1993 in Nagoya, (now headquartered in Owaraishi, Aichi Prefecture), Kato has transformed LBWK from a small used-car dealership into a global automotive lifestyle brand.

Kato is best known for aggressive body conversions, as LBWK focuses on making cars visually dramatic. The company has produced kits for vehicles including the Ferrari F40, Lamborghini Miura, Nissan GT-R, Toyota GR Supra, Ferrari 458, Lamborghini Aventador, McLaren models and many others.

Although Liberty Walk’s designs are sometimes controversial — particularly because they involve cutting into rare Ferraris and Lamborghinis — Kato is widely respected for his craftsmanship, passion and commitment to preserving Japanese custom car culture.

Scott Walker – DicE Magazine

Scott “Horsey” Walker is the Global Marketing Director of DicE Magazine, one of the world’s most respected independent publications dedicated to custom motorcycles, vintage Harley-Davidsons, hot rods, and garage-built culture.

For many enthusiasts, Walker represents the community side of motorcycling. Through DicE Magazine, he has helped champion independent builders, shed builders, artists and custom motorcycle culture long before it became fashionable on social media.

While he’s not one of the magazine’s founders, he’s become one of its most recognisable ambassadors, regularly representing DicE at motorcycle shows and custom culture events around the world.

Ronald Wong – Hot Wheels

As the Lead Product Designer for the Hot Wheels Premium line at Mattel, Ronald Wong is one of the youngest designers to hold such a prominent role within the company.

Originally from Hong Kong, Wong has become well known among die-cast collectors for shaping many of Hot Wheels’ most sought-after collector releases, including the Car Culture, Boulevard, Collector Sets, Elite 64, and Premium 1:43 series.

His impressive collection of more than 20,000 Hot Wheels models, along with hundreds of larger-scale die-cast cars, gives him a unique perspective on what collectors value.

Irvine Jasta – Pickers Store

Irvine Jasta is a highly acclaimed Indonesian graphic designer, artisan, and custom painter renowned in the Asian custom culture scene.

Operating out of Bandung, she is the founder of Pickers Store and is famous for turning motorcycle helmets and apparel into portable canvases and works of art. Over the years, she has become a prominent advocate for Indonesia’s custom culture and creative economy.

Irvine and her husband built Pickers Store from their shared passions — her love of art and custom painting, and his enthusiasm for motorcycles. What began as a small business has grown into one of Indonesia’s most recognised motorcycle lifestyle brands, known for its curated selection of riding gear, vintage clothing, and handcrafted accessories. The store has helped introduce heritage-inspired motorcycle fashion to a wider audience in Indonesia.

Her husband Chandra Perdana Murti, the founder of BBQ Ride — one of Southeast Asia’s largest custom culture festivals — will also be at the 15th annual Art Of Speed.

Chandra launched BBQ Ride in 2013 with a simple goal: to bring together custom motorcycle enthusiasts from Bandung and across Indonesia in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Over the years, the event has evolved into an internationally recognised festival that combines custom motorcycles, classic cars, live music, art, food, and lifestyle brands.

Maki Aganon – Kustomanila

Maki Aganon is the founder of Kustomanila, one of the Philippines’ leading custom motorcycle shows and a prominent advocate for the country’s growing custom culture scene.

Through Kustomanila, Aganon has helped create a platform that celebrates handcrafted motorcycles, independent builders, artists, and motorcycle-inspired lifestyle brands while connecting the Philippine scene with the international custom community.

Beyond organising Kustomanila, Aganon is also an experienced motorcycle journalist. He has written for publications including C! Magazine and now contributes to VISOR, covering motorcycle launches, riding gear, custom builds, and industry events throughout Asia.

Before becoming a full-time writer, he worked in motorcycle retail, service, and apparel, where he helped build rider communities through sales, marketing, and events.

There are plenty more international guests to meet at AOS 2026

Beyond the key motorcycle scene figures mentioned above, there are many more attending this year’s AOS event.

They include pinstripe artists from Japan and Indonesia, as well as custom artist Russell Murchie from Australia.

There will also be guests from Singapore such as Choppajoop, The Wicked Wallop, and Cherrybomb Pinup Parlor, who are all well known in the custom culture community.

Whether you’re someone deeply immersed in the scene, or looking to get into it out of curiosity, the 15th annual Art Of Speed is where you need to be.
