A child was playing on a top-floor balcony of an apartment in Kajang, Selangor.
There was a bicycle up there, and the child climbed it.
Nobody inside the unit noticed.
The person who noticed was in the opposite block — a woman who happened to look up, saw what was happening, and screamed.
She zoomed in, recorded the video and reported it to management.
Management later called the unit, and the bicycle was moved.

The Neighbour Who Screamed
That is the entire chain of events that stood between a normal day and a tragedy.
The woman, who goes by shxwxlyna_ on Threads, posted the footage with a message that was equal parts shaken and direct.
To everyone who heard me scream just now in Adelia 2 — this child almost fell from the top-floor balcony of Adelia 1. Parents, please watch your children. Do not leave anything on the balcony that a child can use to climb over the railing.
Management later confirmed the object was a bicycle, and they instructed the owner to remove it immediately.
The public response was swift and unsettled — commenters were shaken by how close it came, with one noting bluntly: “If no one had noticed, that child would have died.”
What struck many just as much was the detail buried in the replies: the child apparently heard the neighbour’s scream, called for his mother, and climbed down on his own — meaning the only thing that worked was a stranger’s panic, carried across two buildings by open air.

Look at Your Balcony
No one was hurt; the child is fine, and the bicycle is presumably now inside.
But the question the video leaves behind is harder to move: how many balconies, right now, have something on them that nobody has thought about that way?
A step stool, a plastic chair, a tricycle or a laundry basket turned upside down.
None of them is dangerous until a three-year-old finds them at the railing of a twelfth-floor apartment.
For parents in high-rise units, the fixes are low-cost and immediate: clear the balcony of anything climbable, install a safety mesh or balcony screen, and treat the railing as the last line — not the only line — of defence.
