The Formula 1 circus is returning to Malaysia for the first time in years, and Sepang International Circuit (SIC) wants you to help run it — for RM60 a day and a meal.
SIC officially opened volunteer registrations this week for the Bahrain F1 Grand Prix, scheduled for 2 to 4 October.
The race sits between the Azerbaijan and Singapore Grands Prix on the 2026 calendar, putting Malaysia squarely in the middle of one of the sport’s most competitive stretches of the season.
Interested applicants can register through SIC’s official website, filling in personal details, residential address and any prior volunteer experience at the circuit.
Duty schedules will depend on the role assigned and the organiser’s requirements.
The compensation: RM60 per day, with meals provided throughout race weekend.
For context, a grandstand ticket to the same event will likely cost several times that.

It Was Never Really About The Money
The reaction online was swift.
“Dah tahun 2026 ni takkan bayar gaji RM60 sehari je,” one commenter wrote — loosely, it’s 2026, surely we’re not still paying RM60 a day.
Another offered to take everyone else’s slot.
To be fair, this is how volunteer programmes at major motorsport events work almost everywhere — the draw has never really been the money.
It is the access, the atmosphere, and the ability to say you were on the inside of something most people only watch on television.
But when the event in question is Formula 1 — where team budgets run into hundreds of millions and hospitality suites cost more per day than most monthly salaries — RM60 does invite a certain kind of arithmetic.
Applications are now open at the SIC official website.
