The 15-year-old victim sustained 14 stab wounds, one of which pierced her lung. Her condition remains stable after receiving treatment and undergoing surgery at Hospital Banting.
According to the New Straits Times, the victim still needs a chest tube in her lung for another two or three days while she starts a week-long recovery in the hospital. The tube will only be removed once the doctors are satisfied that the bleeding has stopped.
Mohd Firuz Ibrahim, 43, the victim’s dad, said his daughter has been moved out of the intensive care unit (ICU) after surgery and is now under close observation. He said his daughter is still traumatised and wouldn’t stop crying.
Mohd Firuz was a little relieved that his daughter wasn’t feeling as much pain anymore and that she was in a much more stable condition. He added that his daughter can drink and eat light meals, and has been talking again.
Addressing the rumoured ‘’list’’
In the aftermath of the stabbing, a list with 12 names, allegedly belonging to the suspect, was circulated online. The victim’s name was allegedly listed as the 10th name in the list as the suspect’s intended target.
However, Mohd Firuz said it’s unclear whether the list of names was written by the suspect, obtained by someone else, or fabricated. He also doesn’t know the suspect’s motives. He leaves the investigation to the police and urges the public to let them do their job.
He has previously said that he doesn’t believe his daughter was the intended target. He thinks she just happened to be nearby when the attack happened.

She’s not a bully
Mohd Firuz said his daughter is not a bully and that she barely leaves the house. If she does leave the house, she is always accompanied either by her father or mother. He added that his daughter has never gone out on her own with schoolmates.
Mohd Firuz also shared that the family doesn’t know the suspect’s family and that his daughter had never mentioned the suspect at home.
On meeting the suspect’s family
Mohd Firuz confirmed that neither family has made contact, but he would be open to a meeting if one is proposed. He shared that it’s difficult to say how he would respond to an apology since it depends on the situation.
He has called on schools to have tighter security measures, including screening those entering school compounds.
