Malaysian influencer Han Xiao Ai has been appointed as a team leader for the PBS Serdang volunteer fire brigade, following her heroic efforts during severe flooding in Hat Yai, Thailand, last November.
Han announced the appointment on Instagram, thanking Malaysia’s Fire and Rescue Department director-general, Datuk Seri Nor Hisham Mohammad, for the letter of appointment and commendation.
During the Hat Yai floods in November last year, Han travelled to the disaster zone and joined volunteer firefighters in evacuation and rescue operations.
Her team successfully rescued about 300 people trapped in floodwaters, drawing widespread attention and praise on social media.
In her Instagram post, Han emphasised her commitment to rescue work, stating: “This is not my first rescue, and it will not be my last.”

Family members and friends attended the appointment ceremony.
