A buried body was found near an abandoned house in Kampung Batu 4, Pedas, within the Rembau district of Negeri Sembilan yesterday (18 December). The body is suspected to be linked to a reported missing persons case in Ampang, Selangor.
Harian Metro reported Negeri Sembilan chief of police Datuk Alzafny Ahmad as saying that the body of a woman was found in a bag that was buried behind the house.
“Last 15 December, the Ampang police station received a missing persons report. Following that, more information was obtained from a report at Pedas police station, Rembau.
“Acting on that information, police went to a house on Jalan Pedas-Linggi and checks on the premises found that a crime was committed in the area behind the house,” he told Harian Metro.
According to Alzafny, an investigation was opened by the Investigating Officer of the Rembau District Criminal Investigation Division under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
An autopsy is being carried out today.
Alzafny said Police are actively investigating and tracking down individuals suspected of being involved the case.

Suri was actually supposed to arrive in Switzerland before she went missing
A report by Berita Harian said Suri, aged 53, was supposed to depart from Kuala Lumpur to Doha, Qatar, before continuing her journey to Zurich, Switzerland.
“Our friends in Doha did not know who to contact when Suri didn’t arrive, and I became worried when friends in Switzerland said she hasn’t shown up.
“Friends in Switzerland started to worry when Suri did not appear at all. They waited for eight hours but she still didn’t show up. In the end, we contacted her family in Sarawak,” Mac told Berita Harian.
She said the trip to Switzerland was an annual routine for Suri to meet with old friends, and the plans were made much earlier. According to Mac, Suri is not one to just go silent all of a sudden, but when she became unreachable, that’s when everyone started feeling something was wrong.
Mac said Suri frequently travels to Sarawak. In Kuala Lumpur, she lives with her niece in an apartment in Ampang. She said a man responsible for helping Suri with daily tasks has also been identified in the police investigation.
At the moment, the body found buried behind the house in Rembau cannot be confirmed as Suri yet, although Suri’s niece has been to Rembau Hospital to identify the body.
Mac added that she herself will go to the hospital in Rembau soon to bring the body back to Sarawak if the identification process confirms it is Suri’s.
